Using Twitter To Find More Customers

When you’re looking for new customers for your business there are no shortage of methods you can employ. However, one untapped method you may not have considered is using Twitter to search for customers. Twitter is usually likened to a cocktail bar, in terms of short conversations, but this environment can also be conducive to finding new buyers for your services and products.

Below you’ll find a process that will help you find new customers via Twitter and pitch them on your services.

1. Build Out Your Profile

The foundation of a strong Twitter campaign begins with your profile. Make sure you have a professional photo, as well as, a cover photo that gives followers a glimpse of what your business does.

You can also post a sticky tweet that will remain at the top of your profile that highlights your services, and offers a link to your website.

2. Search For Customers Based Upon Interest and Follow

The next step is to look for visitors based upon certain keywords, and interested that have overlap with your business. You can use a tool such as, Followerwonk, to build a list of potential Twitter followers based upon the keywords you enter.

Once you have the list compiled you can then go through and follow every user that has made the list. Usually, there’s a certain percentage of these users that will follow you back.

3. Look For Problems

People tend to voice a lot of their problems on Twitter. You can use the Twitter search bar to find potential problems that your company can solve. Just use the search bar and type in a certain problem related keyword, and you’ll find a list of posts that include that keyword.

You can then compile a list of followers that have a voiced wanting a solution to a problem you can solve.

4. Send A Direct Message Providing A Solution

Then, you can send a direct message to that Twitter user with the solution to their problem. However, make sure you’re not spamming your followers, or other users, as that’s against the Twitter terms of service.

As you improve your search queries, and follow-up messages you’ll see more customers coming back to your business’s website. Over time, this could lead to a flood of potential new leads.

Social media is powerful tool, but only if used effectively. Otherwise, it can be a total time sink. If you’re looking for a social media strategy that actually works for your business, then reach out to our Jacksonville social media team today.
