How To Build A Landing Page That Converts

Landing pages can be effective tools to increase your website conversions, grow your subscribers, and create a focused environment for your readers to enjoy your content. If you’re not using landing pages across your website, then you need to start.

1. Match Your Ad and Page Headline

The ad page is whichever source you’re sending traffic from. For instance, if you’re sending traffic to your landing page from a Google ad, then the copy and headline from the ad needs to be in the same format as the landing page.

The more these resemble one another the more you’ll be able to reduce the page bounce rate.

2. Use Strong Sub-Headlines

Once you’ve captured your users attention with the page headline you need to have strong sub-headings that encourage the reader to continue to read what you’ve written.

The goal of every sentence on your landing page is to get the user to read the following sentence, and on and on until they reach your call-to-action.

3. Choose The Right Style Of Button

Your button should blend into your design, but also stand out enough so people actually know it’s a button. You’d hate for your users to pass over your button, simply because they don’t see it.

4. Use The Same Category Of Other Media

Other media includes elements like photos, video and audio. These should compliment the text that’s on your page and work together to create a more powerful emotional experience.

5. Build Trust Through Social Proof

Social proof includes things like testimonials, number of followers and endorsements from others in your field. The closer the social proof is to your ideal customer the more impactful it will be.

6. Strong CTA That Inspires Action

Your call-to-action needs to be irresistible to your visitors. Also make sure you use active words that make the user act, instead of passive words.

7. Edit Extensively

Typos will kill the impact of your landing page. It can even be beneficial to hire outside help to take a second look at your copy before you send it out to the rest of the world.

8. Always Optimize Above The Fold

The above-to-fold section is the first area people will see when they land on your website. This needs to be strong and give your visitors such a strong emotion response that they’ll have no other choice than continue reading down the page.
